Of Australian Interest; An original Grant of Arms bearing the seals of the Heralds, Garter and Clarenceux, the recipient being William Lavington Marchant (Freshford, Somerset and Mannanarie, South Australia) dated 1864, complete within original presentation box. Also a copy of the Arms granted with the description verso. Footnote: Marchant was born in Freashford in Somerset in 1828 and arrived in Australia aboard the Fairlie in 1840. Marchant introduced Durham cattle and Clydesdale horses to South Australia and was involved in many stations in the north of South Australia including Mannanarie, Edeowie, Aroona and Burnside Station.
